Pressure Testing

At the conclusion of the endurance testing we conducted  a pressure test on the cell used.

The aim of this test was two fold.

  1. To find out at what pressure the HOH gas collapses back on itself
  2. Establish the burst pressure of the HOH Cell

We had hoped that the cell would endure for the first test, so the second could be conducted.

The following video footage was recoded with narration:

even though 60 psi should be enough to supply a cars needs, has anyone found the answer to how much pressure hoh can handle without a reaction?

Hey drako, I can’t give you exact numbers but I have since tested with a leverage pressure tester. I filled a pneumatic hose with hoh and water then exerted pressure, from around 80PSI the gas begin to fold back into the water, no detonation (in this experiment) or measurable heat to speak of (very small volume test). At around 150PSI the hoh had been fully absorbed by the water. When the pressure was released back to atmosphere no gas remained. Hope this helps.
