This system started
continuous operation:

10707 hours, 5 minutes ago

Many people have been asking after the Generation 5 system and wondering when it might be available for further trials.

As documented in the Cell Design section, the Generation 5 system suffered from some design problems;

  • Reduced width of internal insulators
  • Electrical terminals mounted on the side of the cell
  • The ability to over tighten the electrical terminals damaging the cell internals

These issues compounded to create shorting within the cell, which over time stopped the cell from functioning correctly.

A new system has now been developed with the aim of rectify these issues and testing is now beginning!

This time instead of us deciding when the equipment is ready for use, we are inviting you to join with us for the compliance testing.

By inviting you to become directly involved in this stage, we hope you will be able to make an informed and comprehensive decision about using this technology in your application and provide you with the opportunity to influence the final design and specific outcome for you.

The cell itself has been cast in a “semi-transparent” hardened resin, allowing us to observe internally how the cell performs over time.
Scope of the Testing
  • Endurance testing (continuous operation)
  • Fluid and Gas Flows
  • Electrolyte levels (pH) and balancing
  • Current Runaway Management (manual and automatic)
  • Automatic / Manual Fluid Refill
  • Gas Drying and Arresting
  • Configuration Options (bubbler locations)
  • Efficiency measuring
  • Open Experimentation – Tests you’d like to see.
  • Final – System destruction and inspection.

Outcomes from the Testing

  • Help you understand the technology better
  • Make an informed decision about the use of the system
  • Type and frequency of maintenance
  • Which options (automatic refill / current management) that may be approproate for you
  • Understanding of the durability of the systems as a whole
  • Documented example installation in a vehicle
  • Emission Testing
  • Mileage and fuel usage reporting

Testing Duration

The duration of the testing period will be decided by you, this may be as short as a 1000 hours to 4000 hours.

Why participate?

  • If you’ve been thinking about using the HOH technology and want to have a clear understanding of what outcome you should expect
  • You have a general interest in the technology and would like to understand it better
  • Want to know how to implement the technology within your own specific
  • What to know (exactly) how the system performs
  • What the technical limitation of the technology are
  • You will have the ability to suggest changes or modifications to the systems

Who can participate?

The project is open to all sponsors, irrespective of the contribution size. You will be part of a community based peer review group, each offering direction to exactly how you would like this technology performs and functions.

What else do I need to know?

Based on the successful outcome(s) of the testing as decided by you, a limited production of the systems will be offered for those interested, making this system available to you.

OK, so what’s the next step?

Click here to make a contribution via sponsorship to these works, then within a 1 working day your account at hohcells.com will be upgraded to allow access to this experimentation project.

What type information will be available during this project?

  • Pictures with descriptions about the system and it’s performance
  • Video footage of the equipment in operation
  • Live video broadcasts of specific experiments (including real-time chat)
  • Community comments and discussion
  • Upon successful completion of these test, a limited quantity of systems will be made available to sponsors
